Zumba Fitness...
is unlike anything you have tried before. The routines feature interval training sessions using fast and slow rhythms from all over the world, but predominantly Latin rhythms such as Salsa, Cumbia, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo, Samba, Tango, and also including Flamenco, Belly Dancing, etc.
Creator Beto Perez, a native of Colombia, is an experienced fitness instructor. Zumba came to be as a mere accident, when one day, Beto walked into his aerobics class without his tapes, which he had forgotten at home. The only thing he had with him was his own tapes that he listened to in his car. They contained his favorite Latin music. He was faced with a challenge. Not letting his students know he had made a mistake, he walked into the gym and told them that they were going to do a "different kind of class" that day. The students loved it so much they kept asking for it. To his surprise, more and more people joined his class which was more fun and upbeat, and which featured music that "you just have to move to."
Zumba fitness has exploded worldwide with over 40,000 locations in seventy-five countries offering its benefits.
