Kathy Marvin

Born and raised in Mexico City, she began taking dance lessons at the age of 6.  She received lessons from Alicia Gomez Castellanos, a well-known professional dancer/instructor licensed and registered through the Royal Academy of Dance in London.  After many years of receiving dance instruction in Ballet, Spanish Dances (Flamenco being only one of the many different styles), and Folkloric Mexican Dances, Kathy received her Dance Teacher Diploma.

At the age of 16, she developed an interest for fitness as well.  She joined the Beverly Hills Workout and Gym in Mexico City, and achieved her aerobics instructor certification through this fitness facility.  She began teaching aerobics classes in several locations.

Later on in life, she was able to put both her passions (dancing and fitness) together when she learned of Zumba fitness, which combines dance and interval fitness sessions for a fun, energetic, and effective workout.  She traveled to Miami to become certified in Zumba fitness training, and received her certification from Beto Perez, the creator of Zumba himself.  She has taught many Zumba classes since then.
